Kristy Evanson: The Last to Join, One of the First to Believe
Some people spend years searching for where they belong.
For Kristy Evanson, founder of Smells Like Trouble Club, that place turned out to be The Roma Collective.
Although Kristy was the final creator to officially join the inaugural cast of Season One, you would never know it today. From the moment she stepped into the program, she embraced every opportunity with enthusiasm, curiosity, and a determination that quickly made her an indispensable part of the collective.
She didn’t arrive trying to catch up.
She arrived ready to build.
That attitude is exactly what The Roma Collective was created to find.
More Than a Fragrance Reviewer
Like many members of the collective, Kristy’s journey began with a simple love for fragrance.
Last fall, she made the decision to begin building what would become Smells Like Trouble Club. At the time, she couldn’t have imagined how dramatically that decision would reshape her life.
What started as curiosity quickly evolved into something much deeper.
She immersed herself in discovering new fragrances, sharing honest reviews, and building a growing community of fragrance lovers who appreciated both her authenticity and her perspective.
But eventually, appreciating other people’s creations wasn’t enough.
She wanted to create something of her own.
“When the opportunity to create my own fragrance came along, I realized this wasn’t just about making another perfume,” Kristy says. “It was an opportunity to create something meaningful.”
That mindset perfectly embodies what The Roma Collective hopes every creator discovers.
Running With the Opportunity
One thing became obvious almost immediately.
Kristy wasn’t interested in simply having her name printed on a bottle.
She wanted to understand the process.
She asked questions.
She refined ideas.
She welcomed feedback.
She embraced the reality that building a fragrance brand requires far more than selecting beautiful ingredients.
The Roma Creator Incubation Program exists to transform creators into entrepreneurs, and Kristy has embraced that challenge wholeheartedly.
Rather than waiting for opportunities, she’s been creating them.
Every conversation has become another lesson.
Every prototype another step forward.
Every decision another investment in the brand she hopes will outlive her.
Creating a Feeling Instead of Following a Trend
Many fragrance brands begin with notes.
Kristy began with emotion.
Instead of asking herself what she wanted people to smell, she asked a much more difficult question:
How do I want someone to feel?
That single shift changed everything.
“The biggest surprise has been realizing that creating a fragrance isn’t about picking beautiful notes,” she explains. “It’s about translating emotions into scent.”
Rather than chasing whatever happens to be popular this year, Kristy began chasing something timeless.
Comfort.
Love.
Connection.
Those three words became the foundation for Roma Savienne.
She doesn’t want her fragrance to dominate a room.
She wants it to become someone’s favorite embrace.
“I don’t want it to be the loudest fragrance in the room. I want it to be the one people discover when they lean in for a hug.”
It’s an idea that feels refreshingly different in an industry often obsessed with projection, compliments, and performance.
Roma Savienne is designed to leave an impression for an entirely different reason.
A Fragrance Built From Love
Behind every fragrance in The Roma Collective is a personal story.
Kristy’s may be one of the most touching.
Her inspiration comes from some of the happiest memories of her childhood.
When she was six years old, she lost her two younger half sisters.
She also carries with her the memories of her grandfather, someone who made her feel completely safe, protected, and loved.
She remembers sitting on the floor with her sisters on Christmas Eve, surrounded by excitement and laughter.
She remembers riding beside her grandfather in his tow truck, feeling secure simply because he was there.
Those moments never left her.
Neither did the people.
What’s remarkable is that Roma Savienne isn’t a fragrance about grief.
It’s a fragrance about gratitude.
It’s about honoring the people whose love continues shaping us long after the moments themselves have passed.
“It isn’t about loss,” Kristy explains. “It’s about honoring the people who shape our lives forever and celebrating the joy they leave behind.”
That perspective became the emotional blueprint for every creative decision that followed.
More Than Notes
The final vision for Roma Savienne reflects everything Kristy hoped to communicate.
A soft opening.
Creamy florals.
Gentle woods.
Comforting vanilla.
Elegant musk.
Nothing is loud for the sake of being loud.
Everything serves the story.
She describes it as feeling like your favorite sweater.
A quiet conversation.
The warmth of someone who makes you feel completely safe.
Those aren’t traditional fragrance descriptions.
They’re emotional experiences.
That’s exactly what she set out to create.
Bringing Her Community Along
One of the things Kristy is most excited about isn’t simply launching a fragrance.
It’s sharing the entire journey with the community that has supported her from the beginning.
Her audience didn’t just discover a finished product.
They watched her grow.
They watched her learn.
Now they’ll watch her become a founder.
That transparency is at the heart of The Roma Collective.
Viewers won’t simply see bottles on shelves.
They’ll witness the uncertainty, the excitement, the revisions, the breakthroughs, and the countless decisions that transform an idea into a real business.
Kristy’s willingness to share that process openly makes her story even more relatable.
The Heart of Roma Savienne
Ask Kristy what she hopes people remember after experiencing Roma Savienne, and her answer has very little to do with perfume.
“There are people who shape our lives forever,” she says.
“Sometimes they’re still with us.
Sometimes they live on in our memories.”
She hopes her fragrance reminds people of someone who made them feel loved, safe, and at home.
A parent.
A grandparent.
A sibling.
A lifelong friend.
If one spray of Roma Savienne transports someone back to a memory they never want to lose, then she believes she’s accomplished exactly what she set out to do.
Because, as Kristy beautifully puts it:
“Fragrance isn’t just something we wear.
Sometimes it’s the closest thing we have to holding a memory in our hands.”
For someone who joined the cast last, Kristy Evanson has wasted no time making her mark. Her passion, optimism, and willingness to embrace every part of the Roma Creator Incubation Program have made her one of the brightest lights within The Roma Collective.
Roma Savienne isn’t simply her first fragrance.
It’s the beginning of a legacy built on love, memory, and the belief that the most meaningful scents aren’t always the loudest—they’re the ones that stay with us forever.
